It's been a quiet week. Yay, quiet!
finari came over on Tuesday (and Friday) and we continued work on her partlet. It's coming together pretty well, although there were some snags with the pattern she is using. Having never done it before, we were having some difficulty interpreting it. Yes. We're sewing n00bs. :P
Matt's shirt is coming together nicely, though. The pattern I'm using for his shirt is a lot easier to read than the one Finari is using (which is my fault since that's my pattern, too, I've just never used it before). I'll get this stuff figured out. I ordered some regency gown patterns, and have the prettiest cream cotton with navy pinstripe fabric that I am itching to put together. Must do Matt's shirt first, though. I think my Italian renaissance dress is next, even before the regency, though.
The rest of the week was uneventful with a lot of relaxing and WoW. Then Saturday, I went fabric shopping with
lolafae down at Harry Hines. I came out of it with relatively no damage to my pocketbook, as we were primarily shopping for her. I just got some cotton duck for Matt's sailor stuff for faire, whereas she scored this gorgeous, multi-colored raw silk and three colors of cotton gauze to match for her gypsy outfit. She'll look really cool once that all comes together.
Saturday evening, Matt and I went to The Master Grill Churrascaria in Denton with Kevin and
sandrayln. I love hanging out with them. ^_^ Great conversation, and great food. Mmmm. Meat.
This week things are going nuts in production at the shop. The office (read me) is running pretty much as normal, although they brought in someone to answer the phone, so I will probably head downstairs after lunch to pull internet orders and such. There are, however, people at the shop 24/7 working on the contract job so that regular production doesn't fall behind. We even flew in some friends so they could help and pull some shift work, too. I think it'll be done by Friday, but in the meantime, there is much chaos downstairs.
Monday, Matt and I went to dinner at the Thai place off Preston with a good friend. I had some very yummy Panang with chicken that I will eat for dinner tonight, too, and spent a very enjoyable three hours chatting. Gonna have to do that more often!
Last night, more sewing with Finari. Heh. I'm almost done with Matt's shirt. Tonight, more sewing. I want to finish before I go to the lake this weekend - Saturday at the lake and the girls are all doing their own crafts, so I want to be working on something for me, too. ^_^
