It's been about a month since my last public update... My holiday update had some personal things in it so it was friends only.
Anyway, life does continue. Matt's been interviewing for a new job, and has put his resumé out there. Here's to hoping things go well!
It's a new year and I've reviewed my goals from last year.... The results were only around 50% at best so I'll be renewing those rather than coming up with new ones. Heh. Those are some of my private posts because I need to keep some things to myself.
Matt and I have been watching what we eat much more closely, and been eating better in general. We've been eating a lot of fruits and vegetables. I stocked up on dried fruits and frozen vegetables, primarily because the fresh variety tends to go bad so quickly. We'll still be eating fresh produce, but it will be supplemental to the dried and frozen stuff. Dried fruit is a super-yummy, way-better-for-me snack. The only trick was finding dried fruit that didn't have added sugar. Who adds sugar to dried fruit anyway?? Well, aparently everyone, because only dried apricots, dried apples, prunes and raisins at the grocery store did not have sugar added. So I'll be hitting the health food store next to see what kind of yummy good for me treats they have. Hm. Maybe Sam's, too...
Additionally, Matt has very recently discovered the ease that is cooking with a crockpot. Heh. He never really believed me before, I think, but he is now officially a convert after making a crockpot roast. It turned out wonderfully - he chopped up veggies with the food processor, and dropped them and the frozen roast in the pot, all told, about ten minutes prep time. Heck. Even *I* can cook if it's only 10 minutes prep time. We woke up to the lovely aroma of roasted beef. Mmm. So here's to a healthier year!
A New year doesn't always equal a new beginning, but this year is starting out on a pretty nice upswing for me over all.
And ganked from
