Well, I have a bit of an update, since I've been so busy since I last wrote.

Lets see...

Sunday was pretty mellow with church and packing and relaxing. We also went over to our friends' Mark and Amy for dinner, which was very enjoyable.

The insanity started on Monday with the morning gathering everything together for my absence at work, and preparations for our trip. [livejournal.com profile] finari and our other volunteer/demo guy Patrick showed up around 3pm and then we started the 16 hour drive. Whee! Unfortunately, we discovered that the truck had some sort of glitch that made the reverse lights stay on all the time, and the rental van was excruciatingly uncomfortable. The only two comfortable seats were the driver's seat and the front passenger. The two people who shouldn't be sleeping! Talk about a big boo hiss. Needless to say, I'll never, ever consider buying a Ford mini van.

We arrived in Indianapolis on Tuesday morning around 9am. I also discovered that the convention staff was going to let exhibitors set up on Tuesday after 2pm, so luckily our motel rooms were ready and we took a nap at the motel. After our naps, we headed over to the convention center and had the booth set up in about two hours, after which we went back to the motel and got some real sleep.

Wednesday was very nice and laid back. There was much relaxing at the motel all day, and then dinner with Sandy and Aaron (and [livejournal.com profile] finari, Patrick and of course Matt) at a pub. After dinner, Matt and I took Patrick and Finari back to their various hotel rooms, and then we had our our high priority business meeting about Licensing that was disguised as a Ravenloft game. Heh. We got back to the motel at 3am.

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday were a bit of a blur. I had the show during the day til 6:30pm, chilled with the demo team until about nine-ish, and finally the motel and sleep.

Show highlights:

*I had two lunches and a dinner with my friend Ged (yay!), whom I only get to see at Gen Con because she lives in the UK. We chatted about life in general, dollfies (I want one so badly!), fashion, and other things. Too bad she lives so far away! I also enjoyed chatting with her friends Ralph and Anne, who are artists, too (Ged's hubby is a very well known artist in the industry). (lots of parentheticals!)

*I met two of my favorite artists - Nene Thomas (I also got to see her beautiful dollfie) and Stephanie Pui-Mun Law.

*Co-piloting for Matt and Kevin, and having [livejournal.com profile] finari co-pilot for me. Lots of long, interesting conversations and true quality time with friends.

*I bought some Copplestone miniatures, but also later discovered that one of our retailers in England is willing to trade for some, so I can trade for more! Whee!

*I scored some Hasslefree miniatures and some Freebooter miniatures in trade. Yes, yes. I know. I work for a miniatures company and own literally pounds of unpainted pewter. I'll get around to painting them, really! I still need more, though! XD

*I also of course scored a Mage: The Awakening in trade. I can't wait to start reading it!

Matt traded for some Order of the Stick books and lots of other stuff, like the Game of Thrones RPG, a copy of Guild Wars, and some other things I can't remember.

The show ended Sunday. The booth was packed up by 6pm, but the truck's batteries had drained because one of the drivers left on its lights. However, we had dinner, got the truck jump started, took showers, and then started the long drive home. We got back to HQ on Monday at about 4pm, unloaded the truck, dropped [livejournal.com profile] finari off at her place, turned in that blasted mini van, and finally home. I forced myself to stay up until 9pm, and then crashed after no sleep for 38 hours. Whew.

A huge thank you to [livejournal.com profile] fuzake, who watched our pooch for us while we were gone. It's nice to see that Taltos has accepted you as part of the pack now. ^_^

Tuesday was nice. I chilled out at the house and played with our swag. Since Matt scored a copy of Guild Wars, we fiddled around with that for most of the day and crashed at about 11pm, back on my normal schedule.

Wednesday I went to work and cried at the 200 emails waiting there for me that needed responses, and started working on those. Today is work again, with emails mostly out of the way, I think. Now I just need to listen to all my phone messages and get caught up on all the rest of my piled up stuff (no one opened the consumer mail while I was gone either). Whee!

Ok. So back to work!

Dungeon Siege 2 is pretty fun. I've been playing with that the last few days, trying to get in some quality video game time before I head back to school on monday. Again.
