jaelieLast week I was kind of sick. I say "kind of" because it was more like a cold, with a real bad sore throat. Tuesday Matt made me stay at home. When I told him I was well enough to work, he got mad at me so I gave in, heh. dogdoolb was sick. Also when I got back to work on Wednesday, I discovered that half the shop had called in sick Tues & Wed, too. So what ever this thing is that's going around, it's not a happy thing.
Thursday Taltos and I went over tofinari's house to play with her and Duke. It was funny watching the two dogs. In the back yard, Duke would chase Taltos around, and Taltos would be running sideways with Duke barely keeping up. They rolled around a bit, with Taltos usually on top (he has at least 40 pounds over Duke), and Taltos was growling, but I think that it was a "play" growl, especially since Duke didn't seem alarmed at all. They romped around a little inside, too. I still have so much to learn about my dog.
Saturday morning I did some shopping for presents for Matt - it was easy, I picked up the next five O'Brien books. Then Taltos and I went over tofinari's again to go with her to the vet at PetSmart.
Saturday evening after Matt got back from class, we watched all my chick flicks - Kate & Leopold, Emma, Pride & Prejudice. Then Sunday we watched all five Star Wars movies. Hehe. Nice and lazy Valentine's weekend. On actual Valentine's Day, I spent the evening playing WoW, since Matt had class til like 11pm.
Tuesday and Wednesday I got to have lunch with my sisannawick and Lex, which was a load of fun. I still get a giggle from people mistaking us for the other - when she showed up at my work, my co-worker Ron was standing at the top of the stairs looking down at the door.
He saw her come in with Lex, thought it was me, and said, "Hey! Who do you have there?"
Annie, startled, replied, "Uh, is Jay here?"
Other co-workers did double takes and such, which we both found highly amusing. Later at lunch, our waiter asked us if we were twins. On Wednesday at the Thai food place, they thought she was me until I walked in the door behind her. Bwahahah!
One of the most amusing things is that as a child, I used to be greatly offended by the "are you twins" question. I mean, I was four years older and taller, obviously! And I have blue eyes and she has brown, and her hair was darker and straighter! So clearly we could not be twins!! Hehe. Funny how things that bugged me as a kid now greatly amuse me as an adult.
Wednesday evening while Matt was in class, I had dinner withmatthius1. Since he was crashing at our place he thought he should treat me to dinner, and I'm not one to say no to free food. ^_^ I had a good time talking with him and getting to know him better.
Last night I went dancing withfinari, lolafae and my friend and co-worker Anne. Well, to be honest, I didn't dance much because I'm still recovering from this silly cold and didn't want to overtax myself. But I definitely had fun visiting, relaxing and listening to the music. The playlist doesn't change that much, but I don't really mind since we only go about once a month or so. On the good side, I have discovered that I like Motley Crue. Who knew?
