Yet another weekend update. ^_^
Oct. 11th, 2004 12:01 pmLast Thursday was a blast. It's been ages since I'd been dancing, and the company was excellent. I missed not being able to hang out with
tempest_sky (it's no fair that
lolafae and
finari get to see her regularly!), but I certainly enjoyed hanging out with the girls. It was cool to chat with
d33z_nutz, too. ^_^
Friday... I don't remember what I did Friday, though I remember going to bed really late and waking up tired and cranky on Saturday at the crack of dawn to head out to the farm for chores.
Saturday, we got new tires for the Honda, tried unsuccessfully to get it inspected (one place the inspector was more than 20 minutes late so we left, the other place the computer was down), so we headed out to the farm to continue our work on my mother-in-law's house. We tore down and put up siding until about 6pm, in spite of the off-and-on rain. After we finished, we headed out to our good friend Glen's house for some D&D.
Sunday was crazy at church, since they combined another congregation with our own. Heh. Instead of the three lil three year olds that I had before, I now have six. One valuable thing I learned from that though is that there is no way I'll have more than four children. Honestly, I'm leaning toward three tops. I can't give enough individual attention when there are six, and end up spending more time with the loud/sad/otherwise needy than the ones that seem to be doing well. I've now got four boys and two girls in my class. Oh,
finari, your friend's (I forgot her name) daughter Jazmyn is in my class. What a cutie!
One of the other cool things that happened on Sunday is the wife in one of the new families in our congregation is from Siracusa! Sweet! I spent like half an hour chattering with her in Italian. Wooo!! I haven't been able to use my Italian for like six years. When I turned to go, she grabbed me and gave me a big hug. I forgot how openly affectionate Sicilians are. I miss la bella Sicilia and her people!
I'm looking forward to my sis's baby shower this weekend, and the chance to get together with the girls on Saturday. ^_^
Oh, yeah,
fuzake, Matt's mom is serious about wanting to turn that car port into a small home. So I'll email you about that once I get the measurements for some price estimates and such. I think Matt and I will be able to start on it once we're done with the mobile home, since even just doing that, we're learning a lot. I may hit my granddad up on drawing up some plans for us, too, since he's designed and built two houses already.... She has some specific ideas in mind, and I'm gonna make sure we lay that place out for CAT 5 cables, too, since it'll be Matt's some day, hehe.
