Ok, I just bought the two patterns for Vee's and Morgan's Georgian picnic outfits. I got the Rocking Horse Farms skeleton suit and the portrait dress from Sensibility. I imagine they'll be in the mail and come some time late next week or the week following.

Now, of course, I need to really get cracking on Matt's coat. I did the first fitting and it went well, with only very minor adjustments, I think. I just need to cut out the velveteen. I hate cutting. It's my least favorite part of costuming. If only I could get someone to just cut everything out for me! I don't mind the actual sewing part. :P

I so hear you on the cutting bit! It's also hard on me (that and dealing with patterns, especially if they're bigger) because the only place I have a big enough hard surface (without hauling in a huge table that would be in the way in the living room) is on the floor in the kitchen.

That means I'm not only kneeling over on a hard surface (my poor back and knees), but I have to clean the surface every time I put fabric on it (who knows what was accidentally spilled since the last time you cleaned, even if it was the day before).

I'm trying to finish a project before next weekend and then I need to get back to 18th century stuff. I can't wait until my sweetie has his costume. He's been quiet about it, but I've asked him a few times (like after the photo session in the garden where I took the knotting videos), and he can't wait for his costume. I have asked him a few times if he wanted more normal day wear, but he keeps looking at beautiful silks and colors... I think I've created a monster! Wearing the kilt, he seems to have the "peacock" thing going and wants to strut his stuff soon! Heehee! :) I only hope I can do it justice and that he loves his costume for a while.

Looking forward to seeing what you finish! :D

Yep, that is the exact problem I have. :-/ Although, to be honest, I think I'd hate it even if I had a good set up, heh!

Oh definitely! My least favorite part! Okay, so I hate trying to stuff tissue patterns back into their packet... I prefer paper like Truly Victorian uses, or my own pattern stuff. Tissue is too fragile and that packet is just too small, but those two things are my least favorite parts of sewing. :D

Ugh. With you on the pattern thing. I put them in file envelopes instead. Stupid tiny packet!

Now I see! Aww, that will be adorable. I have no idea what I'm going to do... probably wear the white Regency for the third time. After I'm done with the show I'm in I'll REALLY be trying to find a house, so serious sewing isn't much of an option for the next few months. I'd like to make a new accessory of some kind, though!

I'm using that pattern, but here is my inspiration:

I love it!! Oh, and Morgan's suit will be in the same green, as will my trim, if all goes well....

We should switch... I think cutting things out is interesting but then there's the boring bit where I have to sew it back together. ;)
