The picnic next week

Ok, I've decided officially I'm doing regency again. I looked at the chemise dress, and while it will be easy enough, there will be a learning curve and mistakes, so I decided to do something I've done before. The drawstring dress Sensibility pattern is so easy and there's no learning curve. Plus I can handsew some while holding the sleeping baby. SO, frantic sewing for the next few days and we'll see what happens. Worse comes to worse, I can wear something I already had, and I'll be ok with that.

I think I'll be able to whip up a dress for Vee, too. Another matching dress, of course. That's one of the lovely parts about having a daugther.

I don't think I'll get anything done for Matt this year, so he'll be stuck in his rigged costume from last year. :-/ I do feel bad about that. I'm pretty sure that some of my other married friends have experienced the same guilt. :P

Next year will be easier to get stuff done with a one year old and a three year old, instead of the newborn and toddler.

Unless it's like colder than 50 we're going. I really like the alternate "if it rains" plans you just lined out in the guild yahoo group, too! So it looks like rain or shine we'll go, but not if it's too cold. ^_~

My mom and sister can't make it. This means I can't split child-watching so we'll be chasing Vee most of the time and holding Morgan, so not playing cards and such. We also will likely have a very NOT period correct stroller. Can't have everything! Maybe I'll bring a blanket to throw over it, heh.

I'll volunteer for baby-holding/toddler-chasing too! That's good fun! I think I'm going to bring E next year. I thought about bringing him this year, but he doesn't have anything to wear, and I'm too stressed out with my own stuff to think about him this time. But I'll be better prepared next time. I bet he would enjoy playing with Vee. :)

And WOW. I just saw that Sensibility.com has an 18th Century girl's pattern, so guess what Vee's going to be wearing next year?! Some day I'll be good enough to draft our own patterns, but in the meantime, I love it when someone makes a pattern I can use!! :D
