Sat Dec 30: That afternoon I met up with [livejournal.com profile] lance_work and his family for supper at Chick-Fil-A. Oh, yeah. One of the cool things about seeing the girls again so soon (and of course Glen & Jeanette), was that Riley, the youngest, totally came to me when I held my arms out for her. Muahahah! She already loves me, too! I was supposed to have a D&D game up at the shop but that got cancelled for holiday family reasons by the DM, so the Work family, Matt and I and Paul all headed over to Cabela's for some window shopping. I saw a catfish in their aquarium that was bigger than the one Matt and Tim cleaned up at the lake a few months ago. After Cabela's, we went back to our house and watched a movie and visited.

Mon Jan 1: Since I had no plans for New Years day by mid-week, I decided a LAN party at the shop would be in order. So I announced it in guild chat and got the ball rolling. By New Years day, we had twelve people show up and managed to easily bog down the T-1. In spite of the lag, I do believe fun was had by all. :D

Sat Jan 6: Not a lot happened that weekend - just lots of relaxing and playing WoW.

Fri Jan 12: Friday the 12th had us over at Paul's house for Matt's new D&D game, the first installment. Fun! Paul is playing a noble/warrior (2 NPC classes), Dave is playing a sorcerer, Shana is the rogue, and I'm trying out a druid for the first time ever. I have decided, however, that in whatever next fantasy game setting I play in, I'll be a barbarian or fighter-type. I need something relatively brainless that smashes stuff after about four years of playing spell-casting classes.

Sat Jan 13: Saturday the 13th was cooooold and rainy. In spite of that, I started the day with breakfast with my friend Ivy and looked at some DAoC stuff while at her house. It was a wonderful morning (with wonderfully yummy coffee cake for breakfast!). After I left her place, Matt and I headed into Dallas for the DFWCG business meeting. The meeting had a small attendance, but we got a lot decided and several event ideas planned, so I feel that it was a success.

After the meeting, I drove over to Paul's house and picked up his dog and brought it home with me, as Paul was out for the weekend. I had promised to dog-sit for him and I knew some bad weather was coming up, so rather than drive through it to check on the dog two or three times a day, the pooch was better off staying at my house. Duke, Paul's golden retriever, gets along great with our hound, so they had a lot of fun playing and such. There was a brief moment of confusion for Duke that evening, though, as we did not allow him on our bed. Um, no. Punt! No dogs in the bed. Especially big ones. He adjusted ok, though, and slept on the floor near the door. Our hound just watched with interest and then went to sleep on his cushion in the corner.

Mon Jan 15: I skipped work due to ice on the roads, but by evening the roads were clear, so I joined the rest of the nerds at GameStop for my new copy of Burning Crusades. I had to defrag my computer before we could install it, but we were both up til about 4am experimenting with the new shiny stuff.

Wed Jan 17: More ice again, way worse than Monday, but I caught a ride in to work from two of the owners, since they were going in anyway and it was on the way. We left early, though, since the roads were terrible.

Boohiss to being an hourly paid employee (although my pay is totally competitive for what I do) with a total of only one week of paid off time per year. :-/

Fri Jan 19: Friday evening Annie and Dave came over and we hung out and watched Cars and had pizza. Then they left the Lex with me and took off. Lex and I played with blocks, cars, etc until about 11pm when I finally put him to bed and crashed myself.

Sat Jan 20: I woke up around 9 am since this past Saturday was too cold and wet for SASS. T_T I cheered right up, though, when I went to check on the Lex, who had been put to bed in my hobby room. I peeked in, and saw a bump under the bedskirt. "Lex?" His little blond head poked out from under it and he looked up at me with a big grin. "Hi!" He and I played until about 10:30 am when his granny showed up to take him away for her turn at play with him. I did confuse him, though, when I saw her minivan drive up because I said "Oh! Mom's here!" and he looked up at me and said "Mama?" Err. No. *My* mama. I quickly corrected myself, but he spent the next few seconds waiting for his mom, until he saw his Granny and then all thoughts but "Hi!" flew out of his brain. After Lex and my mom left, Matt and I played a bit of WOW and then went to Mike's D&D game at the shop that evening.

Weekdays consist of work, and then either movies, WoW or reading in the evenings. I really need to get back on my sewing kick. Those DFWCG meetings really help inspire me and get me back excited about making stuff, so I always look forward to them. Thursday night games are swapped between Greg's Serenity game and Chip's noir Supers game. I enjoy the heck out of both games.

I also need to have some time at the lake. I miss Denise and the serenity that can be found up there, so close to nature. Plus our girl's werewolf game. I miss that, too. So, D, when you get a chance, lets work on our scheduling. ^_~ Keep me posted on your job and how that's going, too!

We do need some time together. And Tim needs to see you too. He asks about you guys often. Think he likes picking on you. ^_~
The job is good. It's starting to pick up...though it's slow right now. (hence the quick post). But Saturdays are still questionable until Friday evenings...so I can't make plans.
I did get a DVD for us. I saw it, thought it might be something we'd like to watch...if for nothing more than the costumes. "The Four Fathers"...with Heath Ledger. Anyways, I'm saving it for you.
HOpe I can get you up here before the eagles leave.

I've seen The Four Feathers (Matt loved it for the military history), and adore it. However!! I would totally love to watch it with you!

Lessee. Upcoming weekends that you can currently spring stuff on me:

Sat Jan 27
Sat Feb 3
Sat Feb 24

You can't spring anything on me for Sat Mar 3 because I hope you can come down here for IRISH FESTIVAL! However, if you can't come, I do understand. I just hope you can. :D

Oh, and events-wise, Morena Baccarin (aka Inara) is going to be at the Dallas Comic Con on March 17...!!

I'd love to make Irish Fest (I've never been). Soooo, if it's slow enough then, I may call you Fri March 2nd to tell you I'm on my way down. HEH.
BUT, then we may be slammed by then.

You know what, though? I have already seen The Four Feathers, but forgot to mention that I've never actually seen Age of Innocence? We should make a list of Victorian-era costume movies...

I'm looking for a copy of Age of Innocence...it needs to be added to my collection. I haven't seen it in a long while.

Oh, yeah! If you would do me a huge favor, could you take some picures and write a review of those costumes you made for the faire last year?

For a template, go here.

For examples of the two I submitted, they are here and here!

I'm trying to get some content going for our costumers' guild site. ^_~

I'm gonna have to come up with better breakfast recipes if I'm ever gonna make this monthly update. ;)

LOL! Sorry! I did try to get everything in there, and it sucks when it's the monthly update instead of a weekly like I used to be so good about doing. ^_^ I thoroughly enjoyed our morning together!
