Yesterday was a beautiful day. Not simply because of the marvelous, 70 degree, sunny with a slight breeze weather, but because it was an emotionally and mentally fulfilling day.

Matt and I celebrated the sixth anniversary of our wedding.

2003 we totally forgot it. Whoops. Luckily we both forgot so neither of us was upset. ^_~

2004 we celebrated by adding our pooch to the family.

November 2, 2005, we had a beautifully lazy morning. Matt cooked breakfast while I walked the pooch. After that, we went to the Dallas World Aquarium and wandered around for several hours. Aquarium is a bit of a misnomer, too, as the place is actually a really nice, albeit small, zoo. I saw all kinds of critters I don't ever remember seeing before, and as usual, was thoroughly enchanted by the many different breeds of monkeys in their various habitats. My two favorites were the Emperor Tamarins and the Marmosets. The two giant river otters swam at the edge of their glass, practically dancing in the water. I also saw a very cute critter I've never seen before called a Kinkajou.

We watched the penguins get their lunch, and instantly I wanted sushi. So we hung around and watched them eat and swim, then went to lunch at Tokyo One. Mmm. Sushi. And sashimi... My favorites are still yellow tail, salmon (which I can no longer eat cooked, as any time I see it that way I long for it raw), and those lovely Philadelphia rolls. Although I am finally getting a taste for the unagi, too, now that I'm over my texture issues with it.

I'll stop that line of thought now, as I'm making myself hungry again.

After lunch we decided to give the DMA a skip, since none of their current exhibits really call to either of us. Instead, we went and felt very culturally aware as we watched "The Legend of Zorro." ^_~ Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] annawick's warning, I wasn't expecting anything close to reality, so I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Then we headed home and I crashed out very early, while Matt disappeared into his WWII game notes.

Today, I'm well rested and at peace with my own little corner of the world.
