I've been pretty busy, heh. All week was pretty intensive prep for the conference. I took a break Thursday evening and hung out with friends and had a good time.

Friday was the start of the conference. Matt and I hung out at the Paint N Take area. I started painting 02810 Hyrekia, and went with a red and black theme. After we shut down, Matt and I went to a 10:40 show of Serenity with one of the attendees who hadn't seen it yet.

Saturday, I was there from 9am to about 11pm. Again I manned the Paint N Take area and kept an eye on the boneyard. Occasionally, I helped people who wanted to shop for parts. It was a small conference, so there wasn't that much shopping going on. It made for a very mellow Saturday. In the late afternoon, I finished up Hyrekia and started 14204 Acacia for my AGOT character "Kelesta" for the game starting up in January(ish). Sonic set up concessions at the shop and I ate food that was very tasty and very bad for me. ^_^

Sunday morning I went to church and corralled three-year-olds, then had to head back to the conference. Again, I manned the Paint N Take and boneyard, but again it was low maintenance and very relaxing. I finished Acacia, with the exception of the bow, shield and base, and started on 02534 Kiri the ninja. The guests were all gone by about 8pm, so we cleaned up and left, too.

Monday, I was of course back at work, and back to normal more or less. Monday evening, Matt and I went to Barnes and Nobles to look around, then went home with our new purchases. We lounged in the TV room listening to Andrew Lloyd-Weber's Requiem. I liked it, but some of his chord choices weren't that appealing to me. I'm not fond of minor chords. However, I loved Hosannah and Pie Jesu. Sarah Brightman's voice is so haunting. After Requiem, we listened to Cats on CD while following along in T.S. Elliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats (not this specific edition, though). So much of the script is taken directly from the poetry. Very nice!

Tuesday evening I went to see Jethro Tull in concert at the Majestic in downtown Dallas. It was a good theater, and an awesome show. They had a guest violinist who was incredible, too. For the first time ever, I got to go backstage and meet a band. It just so happened that the reason I was able to go at all is a good friend of mine is related to the drummer Doane Perry (her father's cousin is married to Doane). So it was neat going backstage after the show and watching them chat and catch up on things. Very cozy and not at all fan-girl like. I don't think I'd want to go back stage as a fan, since I've never really been comfortable in that role. However, as a guest of family, it was really nice. An awesome experience.

Tonight, more relaxing, maybe some WoW. Tomorrow, dancing with the artists.

Yep, it's been a good week.
