Well, I just called the hotels and booked rooms for Origins and GenCon. And thus the convention season with all its cat herding and reluctant extroversion begins.
I don't have to wrangle the artists or authors, luckily; although the artists/authors are really a treat to hang out with. However, I get to take care of all the booth arrangements, booth staff, flight/hotel plans, booth money, um... yeah. I'm the floor boss, heh.
I'm definitely an introvert; however, I can also force myself out of my comfort zone and behave like an extrovert. That's what is necessary at cons, and it's something I learned to do while I was a missionary. I do it reluctantly, because I prefer my comfort zone!
"The box men are watching the dealers. The floor men are watching the box men. The pit bosses are watching the floor men. The shift bosses are watching the pit bosses. The casino manager is watching the shift bosses. I'm watching the casino manager. And the eye-in-the-sky is watching us all."

Are you going to A-Kon? Quake-Con? I'll be at those. :)
