I've had a wonderful week, which was topped off by a wonderful weekend.

I spent Tuesday evening with [livejournal.com profile] avice, [livejournal.com profile] kalar and Avice's friend Rob. We spent several hours hanging out at Cool Beans and just visiting. We talked about all kinds of things from life in general, health, politics, and Burning Man. Kalar, to my amusement, mentioned that Matt and I are the only two actually politically conservative people that he knows. Or maybe it was that he knows and likes? Not quite sure there, heh.

I had a lovely Wednesday evening with Matt. We just watched movies and talked. I'm also having quite a lot of fun with my Thursday game group. We're playing our own version of Hero High and it's going really well. I'm having a lot of fun with it, anyway! Friday evening we had Thai food and took our characters from Matt's d20 and converted them to GURPS. This should be interesting!

Saturday morning, Matt and I loaded the hound up and we spent all day Saturday with Rob, Sioux and Kyr, and Annie & Lex, and one of Sioux's sisters and her four kids (three mobile, one an infant). The hound did surprisingly well in spite of the chaos of having so many children over. Although it helped that all of them were so well behaved. Yay for well behaved children!

Oh, yeah. My wonderful sister-in-law put our copy of War of the Buttons on DVD for me. So now I can finally watch it again! That movie is greatness.

Sunday was *great*. After church, we headed down to Mansfield and spent all afternoon and evening with extended family. It was at an aunt and uncle's home, and all eight of my mom's siblings were there (plus a lot of my cousins) for my grandpa's 85 birthday. I had a blast.

I saw some cousins who were MUCH changed since I last saw them. They were nine and younger and it's been seven years. Kayle, who is now sixteen years old, is like 6'4" now and his "little" sister Hailey is taller than me at twelve. Also, there's this awesome club house that Uncle Jared built for his youngest son Gideon (who is another over-six-feet-tall sixteen year old) that has a zipline from the top of the club house and it goes for a good fifty yards or so. And, yes, I did it, too, with the encouragement of lots of cousins under five feet tall. Whee!

After a lovely evening spent with my numerous Family, we headed home and got some much needed rest.

Finally we're getting some real rain! I hope it lasts for days!

After reading over that other list, I though there may be a better "Top 100 Books" list out there and found one that suited me more. This one has some truly old books of the sort that I consider classic, like The Illiad and The Odyessey, and this list has a LOT of books on it that I haven't ever read.

They're alphabetical by title, just to change things up a bit. I've already read some but should probably read them again, too....

and here's the list! )

Please note, however, if you have read something that you highly recommend that isn't on this list, go ahead and comment! ^_^
