I picked Matt up from the airport on Tuesday (yay!) at 8:20pm. We went to Logan's and talked and talked until we figured we should leave. Actually, more accurately, Matt talked and talked and I listened with fascination. He tells such a good story, and of course, I was very interested to hear everything he had to say about Hong Kong and the little bit of mainland China he got to see. If you want to read about his adventures, go here and pictures are here.
Wednesday evening
narkeys and
finari came over. We visited, went out to eat, visited some more. It was a nice and relaxing evening that ended around 9:30pm when they went home and we watched a movie and went to sleep.
Thursday Matt went to class and I went over to
finari's place. I brought the pooch with me to work, so he came over with me. The three of us took a nice, long, meandering walk around
finari's neighborhood, then went back to her house for some WoW while we waited for our hubbies to come home from class.
Friday night Matt installed Vampire: Bloodlines on my 'puter and I played through a couple of quests. It was pretty interesting, although I really suck at puzzles and such, so Matt helped with some of them. I made a Brujah to keep unlife simple.
Saturday we went to our friends Glen & Jeanette's and played D&D. It was a blast as usual. They are dog-sitting, possibly permanently, a little maltese-piekenese mix for one of Jeanette's siblings. It was remarkably mellow for such a small dog. He was truly a lap-dog, as he spent most of the time in someone's (anyone's) lap napping. Quite a cute and charming little snack-sized pooch. Erm... I mean, he was cute and charming. Not snack-sized at all. I just hope he never tries to run away from Taltos. Good thing dogs, for the most part, don't flee from each other...
Sunday was good for the most part. At church, I was unpleasantly surprised by the primary presidency when they informed me that my class was not to return for closing exercises. The significance here is that I have eight three-year-olds, and generally speaking my lesson time with them is half an hour, which is about right for their attention span. I had a thirty minute lesson and activities planned but not one hour. So for the last half hour my children ran rampant and I tried to referee. Ugh. Next time, since I don't know if they plan on doing this again, I'll plan an hour's worth of activities rather than my standard half hour. Better to have too much planned than too little.
( A quick lesson in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Sunday scheduling. )
After church, I went home, walked the pooch, then logged in to WoW. But my sis called me to see if she could come over and hang out, so when she got there, I spent the better half of the afternoon hanging out with
annawick and Lex, who is getting quite cute. My parents showed up around 6pm, Annie left around 7pm, and the parents remained and we chatted for a good two and a half hours about all kinds of fun stuff but mostly Matt's trip to Hong Kong.
In all, it was a great week, and an excellent weekend.
