Weekend Update
Aug. 2nd, 2004 01:01 pmFriday night was nice and mellow. Matt refined his random NPC generator, AND created a really nifty character history generator for a werewolf game he's planning out. I am totally looking forward to playing that, too. It's starting in Ireland in the 1100s, and will be a "legacy" game where our characters will live their full lives and then we'll play the decendants through to the Apocalypse. I think Matt's calling the campaign "Family First, Family Forever." I'm really excited about it, and have worked, somewhat, on my first character. The Legacy game will replace the Ravenloft Tuesday night campaign.
Rob, Sioux, and Kyrie came over on Saturday. I decided not to go to the family campout (sorry, Annie) because they didn't want to drive all the way from Austin to Arkansas, but still wanted to spend what time they could with family. Saturday morning Kyr, Sioux and I went to my boss's house to play with her kitties while she was away. Then we gave them a tour of our work, and spent the rest of the evening chilling out and visiting.
Matt and I finished reading 1632 by Eric Flint. It's one of those time-travel/re-write history kind of books, and quite well done, in my opinion. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm not a critic, however, so if I actually finish a book, that generally means I enjoyed it. ^_~ I'm almost through 1633, and in the author's note at the end, he mentions doing like eight years. I know 1634 is out in hard cover, but I don't know if we'll be getting that until it's paperback. I do hope his quality of storytelling stays true, as the first two have been really fun.
