So, I skipped the Thursday game as Matt really, really wanted to see Transformers. And wow. That movie rocked. I never really watched much of the cartoon, but the movie was really fun and engaging.

Friday's game went really well, even though I was mostly an observer. We convinced Matt to run a Werewolf the Apocalypse game. Fun, fun! [livejournal.com profile] kalar and [livejournal.com profile] devineoraclefy are both entirely new to Werewolf, so Matt ran them through their first change and the experience of discovering a whole new world. He did the set up really well and it was really fun watching them role-play their characters discoveries as they themselves discovered the game. I think this time we really picked character concepts that will blend well together. Of course, it doesn't hurt that out of six of us, four are Fianna. Heh. Anyway, we've got:

Homid Child of Gaia Ahron = Bob
Lupus Fianna Ahroun = Paul
Homid Fianna Galliard = Dave
Homid Fianna Philodox = me
Homid Uktena Theurge = Austin
Homid Fianna Ragabash = Shana

My concept for this game is an old one for me, one I've been wanting to play for quite some time. I remember the "breakthrough" feeling I had when I conceived it. I'm really excited about this game!

Saturday I went to the Star Wars Exhibit at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. It was awesome, and I totally enjoyed myself. My family is so cool! Ok, we're actually quite nerdy, but I think they're a lot of fun, so it's all good anyway. First we watched the special effects movie at the Omni (I so want to see Harry Potter there too!), then went through the exhibit.

The exhibit itself was really neat. They had a lot of what-ifs and look-where-where-science-is-now kind of stuff that was really interesting, plus a lot of little activities, like building your own miniature robot, steering a robot, sitting in an air-propulsion type car thing... All kinds of neat stuff! I could have spent more time there, but teh Lex was so tired poor thing. Then when we broke for lunch, I sat too long and was ready to head home myself. Of course, I think had I gotten a full night's rest (instead of going to bed at 3am and getting up at 7:30am...), I would have had a lot more energy for the exhibit. Maybe I should go back, and be rested this time...

After the exhibit, we went home and took a "nap" and threw off our sleep schedule. Luckily Sundays are very low energy so we were able to balance ourselves out by Monday morning.

Only to throw it all off again last night! Because, of course, Matt and I went to the midnight showing of Harry Potter with Bob, Chip, and Paul. So here I am again, having gone to sleep around 3:30am and getting up at 7:30am. Whee! I'll just say that if you've read the book you will notice things that were left out (of necessity due to time). If you haven't read the book but seen all the other movies, you'll probably enjoy it quite a bit. Maybe. I enjoyed it anyway!

Lunch today with Annie, the Lex and Eric was good. I'm still tired, though.

And yet I still adore going to opening midnight showings. It was worth it! ^_^

Hey, you two (well, Matt's on this too, but he's already seen it)!

I've updated my notes with the bit of role-playing that Matt and I did on our deer-killing drive (well, all the role-play happened before the deer tried to kill my car but lost) up to Tulsa. Nolan would have informed you two about all the Greg stuff that yall didn't hear while you were off talking to those other NPCs.

When are we getting together? To game, to craft, to whatever!

Edit: I also updated the Supernatural NPCs page with pictures, but no descriptions, etc, yet... Whee!

Oct 28: I went to the Lake to spend some quality time with [livejournal.com profile] tempest_sky, with the hubby and [livejournal.com profile] finari. Of course I had a ball. I always have a wonderful time at the lake. Heck. If all I did was curl up and read while there, I would still have a great time. Anyway, the very first thing we did was tour the Boat Club in the golf cart. I also love golf carts, heh. After the tour, we did our standard Denison trip to the little alternative store there called Bec Art. They always have some cool things. Next time, I'm going to pick up one of their glass incense burners and the tiny essential oil bottle.

After Bec Art, we went back to TempestSky's place and played Werewolf. My husband, wonderful lovely man that he is, agreed to run our Girls' Game for the three of us and he pretty much picked up where the old game left off. Oddly enough, it was almost one year to the date of our last game. Anyway, He is such a good story teller, and pretty much immediately made the game his. I love his NPCs, heh. I wasn't totally sure if TempestSky enjoyed herself because she was so quiet, but she assured me that she thoroughly enjoyed herself.

About 4pm, we took a break and went to watch Matt and Tim clean up a 75 pound catfish. Yes, I did say 75 pounds! TempestSky took some pictures of it, too.

After that little break and some food, we resumed the game and then called it quits around 10pm to head back to DFW. *sigh* What a lovely day!

Matt and I also had sushi with [livejournal.com profile] annawick and [livejournal.com profile] spar30, who were celebrating their sixth anniversary. Six, right? I think yall got married the year after Matt and I... Anyway, the sushi was great, the company was excellent and in all, I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Nov 4: Matt and I went shooting, and our friend Glen came down from Tulsa and hung out pretty much the whole weekend. I'm still sad they moved, even though hopefully it is temporary and they'll be back in three years after he is done with law school. After that, we chilled out at our place, then headed over to the Buddhist Wat in Keller for their Loi Krathong celebration. Mmm. Lots of good Thai food was eaten.

Nov 10: Friday night had us over at Rob & Sioux's place, where we watched movies and chatted. I didn't get to spend much time with the Kyrster since her bedtime is so early. She did have the chance to show off her Water Bender outfit that she wore for Halloween. Sioux made it and did an excellent job of it. Oo. And for dinner, Sioux made some bacon-wrapped garlic shrimp that was simply mouth-wateringly good. Mmm. I am *still* drooling, just thinking about it. Anyway, this Thanksgiving, I'll make sure to spend some quality time with Kyrie at my parents' place. She's growing up into quite the like-able girl.

Nov 11: We left Rob & Sioux's in the morning, hoofed it over to our place to drop off the hound, then went to Dallas for the DFWCG gathering. I decided to re-do my petticoat to be more useful to a natural form 1880s petticoat rather than for a hoop skirt as it was originally done, so I ripped out the old waistband and re-pleated it and basted on the new waistband while chatting with the others at the gathering. It is really helpful for me to have to kind of "report" in regarding my costuming goals. Well, technically we're not reporting in at all, but it's inspiring to be around other people who are such accomplished costumers and so I seem to get more done. Neat! I still need to put on the fasteners and actually machine stitch the waistband on, but the hard part is done. The machine stitching will take literally ten minutes, if that.

After the DFWCG gathering, Matt and I headed back up to the shop for the game that our friend Mike is running. My character almost got taken away by Strahd (yes, the DM plopped us in Ravenloft!), but for the quick thinking of a party member who switched places with me via some kind of dimension door or something right before Strahd's teleport, Strahd has now got a monk with him instead of my character. And that's how that evening's session ended. Heh.

And there you have it. At least I updated *before* the SASS event this time! ^_~

Whee! I updated my notes on the New Gotham page of the gaming wiki. I also updated the Supernatural NPC page some.

Guido is SO cute! ^_~

I had a LOT of fun this weekend and will do a weekend update tomorrow. ^_^

Edit: Oh yeah. If you think of anything to add to the NPC pages that I forgot, etc, feel free to do so!

Thursday I hung out with friends, then Friday evening I went to the lake for a slumber party and the girls' game. We left Denton around 7pm after a quick stop at the grocery store for supplies. I spent a wonderful hour and a half chatting with Anne and [livejournal.com profile] finari on our drive.

We arrived at the lake around 9pm. [livejournal.com profile] tempest_sky and [livejournal.com profile] lolafae were already out and about, but Tim saw us drive up and had us hop on his golf cart. He scooted us over to a field and we got to see several deer just barely beyond the headlights of his cart. Then we went to the point where the others were and spent some time star gazing. [livejournal.com profile] finari saw the Milky Way Galaxy for the first time. She also saw like six falling stars. After that, we went back to the house, watched Van Helsing and fell asleep.

Saturday morning we woke up, showered, and had breakfast. Then we had our game.

Gamer geek stuff now... It was 100% combat this time, which was tolerable after about nine (or ten?) games of pure role-play. ^_~ [livejournal.com profile] finari's character first changed (whee!), [livejournal.com profile] tempest_sky's character awoke, and my character, after finally losing the desperate hold on her own sanity, first changed, too. [livejournal.com profile] lolafae's character awoke last game, so she was already aware that things were not all as they seemed.

I think Lola is an Akanthus mage, and Tempest is a Thyrsus. Anne had an awesome idea for having them choose their Path. Anne chose one card to represent each Path and one card to represent each Arcana, and of course grouped the cards in threes, each Path and its two Arcana. Then, with out telling them any of this, she had the two of them chose the set that they felt represented their character the best. It worked out pretty well. ^_^

Finari and I both are Hunters in Darkness New Moons. Irakka? Heh. I still need to learn all the silly new terms for these old concepts. Although Anne already told us not to put too much stock into the fluff, so I think I'll just skip all that. This should be interesting... Finari's character is more of the sneaky type, and my character is more of the fighting type. It'll be interesting to see what different niches we work out for ourselves.

It works, though. I'm glad this new setting is more lenient on the mixing of the genres...

We played for about three hours, then had lunch and went into Denison to do some shopping at a little herbal shop. I picked up some henna, some crushed walnut shells, a pair of hair sticks, and some bergamot candles. Mmm.

When we finished in Denison, we went back to Tempest's place and put our characters on their new sheets. Whee! Then we went back out to the point to turtle-watch and catch the gorgeous sunset. After the sunset, we went back to the house and played with fire and roasted marshmallows. We left around 9pm to head back to civilization. It's so nice out at that lake.

Sunday morning's lesson was about music, so I brought my clarinet and played name that tune with the three-year-olds, who thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm very lucky they're not critics because I am badly out of practice, heh. Then I let them play around with Matt's chanter, which is virtually indestructible. They enjoyed that, too. We went to my parents' house around 1pm. [livejournal.com profile] annawick and the Lex were already there, so we lounged around and played with the munchkin. Rob, Sioux, and Kyr showed up around 7pm, so we hung around for another hour or two. Kyr is getting so BIG. I can't believe she's nine already.

Also, Mom and Dad picked up a camper trailer, one of those pop-up tent dealies, which I thought was very cool. It'll be better for Dad, too, since camp set up will be way easier, and they love camping. Of course, we never camped in such luxury as kids, but I know they'll really enjoy it.

Monday evening after work, I just had a very chilled out, mellow evening.

Tuesday evening we had dinner at Buco di Beppo with my mother-in-law, our sister-in-law, Jessie, and the monkeys, plus their friend Max. Matt taught the monkeys the meaning of "selling your best friend down the river," so as to properly embarrass a friend in front of their family, where as I hurriedly explained the meaning of "Too Much Information!!" Those boys are so silly. ^_~ After dinner we adjourned to Audt's house, where I was soundly defeated at chess by a nine-year-old, in like six moves. Heh. I wasn't surprised, though. Danny is one very sharp kid.

Last night, I relaxed and watched several episodes of Firefly. I love that show. I can't wait until Serenity comes out on DVD!

Matt's taking his mom to the airport today, where she's heading back to Bangkok for a few months. We'll be out to the farm to do some winter maintenance, and perhaps start going out there for some shooting now that she's gone... She doesn't really like guns, so while she's home it's a little more difficult. Plus she always has a to-do list when we go out there. ^_~

Also, we're getting a new toilet. Our water bill doubled this past month. Ugh. The one we've got is 30 years old and the water runs through it all the time. Matt's going by Lowes to pick us out a new one and then we'll have it installed. Once that's done, we'll eventually have to look at getting our air conditioner's condenser fixed, since it leaks, too. Luckily it's over the tub so it just leaks straight down the drain, although it's stained the tub. /sigh. Ah, the joys of home ownership!

Work is going well. We're starting to gear up for the holidays, and the huge influx of orders that comes with it. We got a small taste this week of what is to come. It's going to mean overtime for the hourlies, and longer hours for the salaried. This is when pay-back for being salary comes into play, heh. We have an awesome production crew, some real quality employees, so I am confident that things will go smoothly, if a bit hectic.

Now I need to start working on Christmas stuff. List time!

Lessee.... Week updates are kinda hard sometimes, when you're in that day-to-day swing.

Tuesday was my lazy day. The dog training classes were postponed until today, so I stayed at home and played on the 'puter. I've discovered that I still don't really care for computer games, so what I'm going to end up doing is getting the walk-through just so I can watch the story unfold. So I guess it's going to be more like an interactive movie. :P

Wednesday was Matt's VtR game. Much fun. Warning! Gamer nerd talk! Ok, lessee, what is everyone playing? [livejournal.com profile] narkeys is a Ventrue Invictus; [livejournal.com profile] finari is a Daeva Invictus; [livejournal.com profile] dogdoolb is a Mekhet Invictus (Hm. There's a theme there); [livejournal.com profile] sahve is a Mekhet Lancea Sanctum; and my character is a Ventrue Lancea Sanctum. Our game is primarily set in New Orleans, which is the basic setting from the core Requiem book.

Our coterie is called En Passant, and were temporarily in Baton Rouge, which apparently is a town controlled by Belial's Brood. When they attacked us in our hotel, my poor lil vampire hid in the closet. Not only does she not have any physical abilities beyond Resilience, but she has the vice of Sloth. Hehe. Anyway, she only came out when one of her friends got staked (eep!). She pulled the stake out, then spent the rest of the time taking her dice penalty and shot her 9mm. Anyway, the fight was resolved, and we beat feet out of town and back to New Orleans.

Ok, back to normal...

Thursday evening I went from work to [livejournal.com profile] finari's house with the pooch. We had our nice meandering walk (I love those walks), then tried unsuccessfully to log into WoW. Since we couldn't WoW, we watched Grease. Hehe. I forgot how risqué that movie is, heh. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Friday evening, we played D&D up at work in the breakroom. Again much fun was had. It was our friend Bob's birthday, and lo and behold, his character, a paladin, charged the big evil nasty and died. Splat! Happy Birthday! Heh.

Saturday morning, I woke up late and played WoW. Got my hunter to 20. That evening [livejournal.com profile] thewolfhound and I went to a movie. Sunday was nice and relaxed with computer games and videos.

Yesterday, I set some goals for 2005. We'll see how that goes. ^_^ Tonight, dog training class with Taltos!

It's been a busy week since my last very hurried update.

I do indeed have a new nephew. Alexander is the first nephew on my side of the family (Matt has three nephews and two nieces, I now have one of each). He was born at 7.5 pounds and like 20 inches long. He's a cutie. ^_~ My sis is calling him Lex.

Hm. I need to find my digital camera's cable so I can take some pictures of them.

Saturday we had my sister's baby shower. It was small, pretty much only family came. Luckily, Annie was feeling well enough to come, and she brought the little one with her. We sat around and visited (I've never been one for party games. Bleh).

After the shower, [livejournal.com profile] sahve and I went over to [livejournal.com profile] finari's place to make characters for the all-girl World of Darkness game that our friend Anne is going to run. [livejournal.com profile] lolafae and [livejournal.com profile] tempest_sky were already there. We visited, plotted, and otherwise had a fun time creating our characters. This'll be [livejournal.com profile] lolafae's and [livejournal.com profile] tempest_sky's first time to ever play a table-top RPG. They had some really cool ideas for their first characters, though, and I'm fully confident that they'll thoroughly enjoy themselves. Heh.

Lessee. Planned concepts are:
[livejournal.com profile] finari will be a "Street Rat"
[livejournal.com profile] lolafae will be a "Beautiful Leatherwearing Badass"
[livejournal.com profile] sahve will be a "Inventor Tinker Nerd"
[livejournal.com profile] tempest_sky will be a "New Age Wiccan"
My character is a skate punk.

It'll be a crazy fun game, I'm thinking.

Sunday was pretty stereotypical. Church in the afternoon and then a very relaxing evening. Monday evening we went to our friends home the Hendersons and hung out a bit, then went home to play some WoW.

Wednesday evening, our usual crew ([livejournal.com profile] finari and her husband, [livejournal.com profile] dogdoolb, [livejournal.com profile] sahve and I) played VtR. That game is developing nicely, and I'm having a lot of fun. Maybe some day I'll transfer my game notes to my LJ. If I do, though, I'll hide it so people who aren't interested don't get spammed. ^_~

Yesterday I picked up Cheryl at the airport, in preparation for our Artist Conference. All the sculptors and painters are coming in today, I believe, as well as quite a few of the attendees. Although, the attendance is going to be pretty intimate, as it is limited to thirty-five.

It's going to be a really busy weekend. Tonight instead of going to the gathering at work, we're going to our church's social, but tomorrow'll be crazy. Originally, I was planning on going out to the farm to help at the house. I should, since I missed last week, but I forgot about the Artist Conference, and I'll be needed here. Tomorrow, all day, I'll be at the shop. It's going to be really fun, in spite of the work.

We'll have our on-site store open the whole time, and games going non-stop in the store area. The break room will be used primarily for visiting and time-wasting. There will be paint classes in the paint studio and sculpting classes in the RAF hangar, which is a small, mobile unit with AC and two rooms just outside of our main warehouse. We're going to have Lord of the Rings (all three) and Star Wars (4, 5, 6) running all day in the conference room on the projection screen for people who need to rest a bit between classes.

I'm going to have my hands full, but it sure will be fun. The artists will be here till mid/late next week, although the conference portion that has the attendees will end on Sunday. I can't wait to take Sandy & Bobby to the little Thai restaurant. I think they'll really like it. Yum! Thai food!

So anyway, if I'm hard to reach this weekend, that would be why. My cell phone doesn't pick up reception at the shop, so if you need to find me, swing by. ^_~
